Oreh Applauds Ukodhiko’s Efforts in Making Isoko Self-Sufficient In Agriculture
Councilor representing Otibio Ward 20 in Isoko North Legislative Arm, Delta State, Hon. Ajiroghene Oreh has lauded Member of House of Representatives, Hon. Jonathan Ukodhiko for his recent distribution of Urea Fertilizers to 216 constituents.
Hon. Oreh gave the commendation on Saturday while speaking to journalists on the recent intervention of Urea fertilizers given to 216 farmers in Isoko by the Member representing Isoko Federal Constituency, which he said was essential as it would make the people of Isoko self-sufficient in food production.
According to the Councillor, “In time past, the Isokonation had a thriving economy. Our people, hardworking they are, cherished dignity of labour as they grow what they eat and eat what they grow. Many of our people have prospered through the labour of their hands.
“We proudly boasted of great farmers, fishermen and women, palm-oil producers, distillers, and so on. Like other ethnicities of Delta State, Isoko ethnic-nationality has vast arable lands which continues to be fertile with good rainfall. Our lands are good for fruits, food crops, and cash crops.
“True, our farmers direly need modern farming tools, equipments, and various agricultural inputs for increased food production. Hence, the Urea fertilizers given last two weeks by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture through the member representing Isoko Federal Constituency was very timely and essential.
“The equitable distribution of the Urea fertilizers to 216 farmers in Isoko, tells of Hon. Jonathan Ukodhiko’s efforts of getting it right economically by returning to agriculture which has a lot of prosperity and capable of providing jobs opportunities for the people.
“I am very certain, when the fertilizers are well utilized for the intended purpose, it will further boost the agricultural production of the beneficiary-farmers in Isoko North/South Federal Constituency of Delta State.
“It is a laudable initiative embarked upon. And it again very clearly demonstrates the commitment of Rt Hon Jonathan Ukodhiko to boost agricultural productivity and further position farmers in Isoko for sustainable growth and prosperity.
“And at the grassroot level, particularly the wards, we will continue to give the House of Representative member, Hon. Ukodhiko all the support he needs in making Isok self-sufficient in food production and the growth of our local economy.” Hon. Oreh added
